Coming soon to DOMO. DANTE Goods And Bads create objects, products and editions with qualities above and beyond the substantial; associative qualities: emotions, habits, memories, tastes, aversions, the good, the bad, never the ugly.
Founded in the spring of 2012 by artist Aylin Langreuter and industrial designer Christophe de la Fontaine they share a profound love of the material world for all its pathos and beauty. Since DANTE’S birth, almost all products are handcrafted in the backyard of Milan. The famous “La Brianza” area north of the city is where the best craftsmen have clustered together with their little workshops to service the crazy needs of Milan’s creative industry. Anything anyone can think up can be made in La Brianza. To produce the El Santo chairs, for example, five workshops seamlessly work together, bleaching fur, cutting and sewing leather, welding and powder-coating the steel base. It is a magic place and any designer’s happy dream.
DANTE Goods And Bads for each collection also invite a “guest” to inspire, mentor and/or influence. Therefore, each collection’s products, design and presentation then emerge from some form of dialogue with that individual, institution or concept from his or her’s emotions, habits and memories.
