CALIN designed by Pascal Mourgue
Calin is like a giant pillow: soft, yet structured to support correctly for years to come, with a loose cover which may be removed for dry cleaning.
In 2015, we celebrated Calin’s 20th birthday. A timeless product, it was the creation of one of the greatest designers of our time. Whilst retaining the lines and spirit of this iconic product, Ligne Roset has also been able to use these to their benefit to improve its comfort and it now consists of two articulated pillow cushions on a solid ash wood base (natural or grey stain).
NB: the previous versions still remain in the collection in the form of banquettes and fireside chairs with fixed or articulated backs and two footstools. Their metal bases are available in black or aluminium lacquer.
This youthful design is available in the loose cover version with wooden frames in natural or anthracite ash. Forward Order and choose from new ‘Rasone’ cotton fabric in white, ivory, perle-grey, beige-ecru or acier- blue grey. Made in France.
A family company since 1860 when Antoine Roset opened a wood processing factory in France’s Ain province, Ligne Roset is now that country’s leading furniture exporter, with a presence in 71 countries worldwide. It is led today by the fourth generation of the Roset family – brothers Michel and Pierre and their sons Antoine and Olivier.
Ligne Roset is distinguished from other manufacturers by its tradition of close collaboration with both established and emerging designers, matching its deeply-held belief in design with investment and technical innovation. The past 40 years have seen collaborations with award winning Didier Gomez, Pascal Mourgue, Peter Maly and the Bouroullec brothers, among others, resulting in complementary furniture collections and decorative accessories, lighting, rugs, textiles and occasional items.
Such design collaborations have seen Ligne Roset win many accolades including the Red Dot Design Award on a number of occasions. The Red Dot dates back to 1955 and is one of the world’s most distinguished design awards.
All Ligne Roset products are developed at the company’s own factories in Briord, France, to ensure quality control from beginning to the end. The Ligne Roset name is stamped on each product as an external symbol of perfection.Dimensions
