Appearing as both futuristic and an ancient relic, the FG2 Vase is a ceramic objects that seems to defy definition. Designing for Pulpo, Dutch designers Studio Visser & Meijwaard have used their own heritage as a functional starting point for the vase – the traditional 18th century cabinet set.
Combined with industrially produced contemporary forms, the results are striking and bold. Each FG2 Vase is created from matt glazed ceramic. Streaks and other variations in size and colour are part of the production process, and not defects of the design or production.

Studio Visser & Meijwaard
With a partnership dating back to product design studies at university, Dutch duo Steven Visser and Vera Meijwaard founded their eponymous studio in 2013. The designers create distinct but minimalistic products and are drawn to versatile materials and clear shapes. Visser and Meijwaard are guided by components from archetypical products and find new ways to apply them.
