Description
The rattan Chill Chair and Footstool were designed by Nanna Ditzel for Denmark’s Sika Design in 1961.
Comprising a low sculptural chair (without armrests) and footstool, they are strong, comfortable and designed for indoor use – but Nanna Ditzel herself used them on the terrace of her summer house.
Ditzel was one of Denmark’s most innovative designers. The Chill collection is a design that was considered unconventional at the time but fits perfectly in a modern home. The minimalistic lines of the Chill series integrate with the human body and its surroundings in an organic way.
This rattan chair and footstool are made of Indonesian sustainable rattan and braided on a frame of rattan by skilled wicker workers. The Chill Chair and Footstool setting is stackable.
This chair and footstool form part of Sika Design’s exclusive ICONS collection, which presents furniture by some of the most talented designers and architects of our time.
