The Rana Chair is an exclusive rattan lounge chair designed by Nanna Ditzel. The curved, three-legged lounge chair is part of Sika-Design’s exclusive ICONS collection, which represents design furniture from some of the world’s most renowned designers.
Ditzel was one of Denmark’s most innovative designers. Her experimental approach to materials and study of the human form resulted in the three-legged Rana Chair. This iconic piece initiated the rediscovery of rattan, and with international awards won, wicker furniture regained its status in interior design.
The Rana Chair is handmade in sustainable Indonesian rattan by skilled basket makers. Sika-Design uses carefully selected rattan for furniture production to ensure the highest quality.

Nanna Ditzel
Trained as a furniture architect, Nanna Ditzel was always led by a desire to create, rather than to a specific genre of work. Ditzel designed and exhibited for many years across a range of disciplines, from jewellery to furniture and textiles. Known for playful pieces and organic shapes which are both eye catching and minimalist at the same time. Though Ditzel began her studio in Copenhagen, she spent much time in her later years in London as a sought-after interior and product designer.
