Description
The eye-catching rattan Teddy Footstool by Viggo Boesen for Sika Design is an iconic design to match the Teddy Lounge Chair.
Teddy Footstool is Viggo Boesen‘s interpretation of the popular ear flap chair from the middle of the 19th century shaped with a large organic arm movement.
Designed in 1936, Sika Design dug deeply into the Danish design archives to find this beautiful iconic furniture design. The Teddy stool is a sculptural footstool, which is both elegant and comfortable. Viggo Boesen’s philosophy of design unites sculptural and soft organic shapes, while the furniture is firmly constructed and durable.
Viggo Boesen’s original furniture is today a collectable that is sold in auctions worldwide.
The stool is handmade in Indonesian sustainable rattan with the bindings constructed by skilled wicker workers. Sika Design uses carefully selected rattan for furniture production to ensure the highest quality. Rattan is often compared to bamboo, but unlike bamboo which is hollow, rattan is a solid material.
Rattan is a remarkably strong and indestructible material that can last for generations. The design suits both a classic or contemporary environment and the detailed windings makes it a cozy element in the room.
The footstool’s Danish design looks delightful paired with the matching chair, or used alone or grouped together.
