Sika Design dug deeply into the Danish design archives and found yet another beautiful iconic furniture design from one of their favourite designers Viggo Boesen. Based on Viggo Boesen’s original drawings from 1941, Teddy is a sculptural and eye-catching lounge chair and footstool, which is both elegant and comfortable. Viggo Boesen’s philosophy of uniting the beautiful and sculptural with soft organic shapes, while the furniture should be firmly constructed and thus durable. The seat, armrests and high-back are handmade with bindings on a frame of rattan by skilled wicker workers. This chair works best in a place that has space and its natural element works in both a classic or contemporary environment. Viggo Boesen’s original furniture is today a collectable that is sold in auctions worldwide.

Rattan is often compared to bamboo, but unlike bamboo which is hollow, rattan is a solid material.
