The Rhea Console Table by Ligne Roset is a study in sleek travertine and natural oak.
Designed by Donia Ouertani & Nolwenn Michéa, the design references Greek mythology. Rhea personifies mother nature’s strength, she is the goddess of fertility, earth and animals living in the depths of the woods and mountains. And so, the Rhea Console Table offers a poetic vision inspired by plants and nature.
The beautiful and functional sculpture combines only two materials: the travertine top and the solid wood base.
The travertine tabletop is worked to form the shape of a leaf. Crafted from open pore travertine, it features two layers of a waterproofing. Importantly one edge is kept raw and unpolished. The travertine top (limestone rock) has small cavities, enabling a grained and irregular texture to the touch. Its colour reflects light.
The base of Rhea Console Table is made of oak with a natural varnish. The structure is equipped with a fitting system to fix the console to the wall. The Rhea Console Table is 820mm high and handcrafted in France by Ligne Roset.
