Description
Designed by Donia Ouertani & Nolwenn Michéa, the Rhea Occasional Table by Ligne Roset is a study in sleek travertine and natural oak.
In reference to Greek mythology, Rhea is the personification of natural forces, goddess of the earth and animals who represented living in the depths of the woods and mountains. And so, the Rhea Occasional Table offers a poetic vision inspired by plants and nature.
The beautiful and functional sculpture combines only two materials: the travertine top and the solid wood base.
The travertine table top is worked and re-cut to form the shape of a leaf. Crafted from open pore travertine, it features 2 layers of a waterproofing agent and importantly one edge is kept raw and unpolished.
The travertine top (limestone rock) has small cavities, enabling a grained and irregular texture to the touch. Its colour reflects light.
The base is made of oak with a natural varnish. The Rhea Occasional Table is handcrafted in France by Ligne Roset.
