Located on a compact inner urban site, Argo House, South Yarra, Melbourne is a sophisticated family home by Megowan Architecture that capitalises upon its small footprint. Natural light streams deeply into the principal living spaces within this home, creating welcoming and elegant indoor and outdoor zones.
The Argo Residence, being one of the three, was a special job for Megowan Architecture as it was built by our long-time collaborators Kabsav Projects. The team at Kabsav understands the architectural intent of a project during the whole build process.
Entering off the street via a compact entrance, a restrained courtyard is revealed. As one journeys through the home, layers softly unfurl into spiralling stairs, stone, timber, natural light and eventually culminate at the roof deck with panoramic views over Melbourne.
The Argo House South Yarra strikes a signature balance between a right sized home and timeless sophistication that you can actually feel as you move through the home.
