Casa Eterea is a light-filled double fronted Victorian house in Melbourne. Combining the existing classical elements of the heritage home with a contemporary re-design, Casa Eterea embodies timeless elegance. The clients engaged Biosol with the task of designing a family home which is practical, functional, and beautiful. A sanctuary where family and friends come together – inside and outside – to connect and recharge in its authentic embrace.
“For Casa Eterea, we used materiality, colour and detail to create a seamless transition from classical to contemporary, and to establish a sensory connection throughout the home,” explains Biosol, the details of which complement DOMO’s furnishings beautifully. Upon entry to Casa Eterea, the high ceilings, arched thresholds, and heritage mouldings of the hallway evoke a sense of splendour. The curved DOMO HC28 Bold Side Table helps add to this sense of grandeur.
The front bedrooms and study are comfortable and contemporary, with DOMO’s tonal and sculptural Ligne Roset Ultime Bed, Biasol Tondo Freestanding Mirror and TV Chair adding to the functionality. The open-plan living, dining and kitchen is a light-filled and airy room with a large expanse of glass doors and windows connecting it to the garden, swimming pool and entertaining area. This radiant living zone worked well with the fist-like de Sede DS-266 Recliner Chair and smooth black Ligne Roset Intervalle Dining Table.
The Casa Eterea residence pays homage to its heritage, yet the Biosol updates bring it into the present with enduring elegance, functionality, and beauty. The refined materials and colour palette highlight the timeless elegance of the ethereal interior, coupled with the furnishings and accessory accents by DOMO. Polished and practical, Casa Eterea transcends time for generations.
