Cargo Homes is a smart new type of development by Mirvac, and with contemporary furnishings by DOMO, the interiors are as stylish and aspirational as the market Mirvac seeks to attract.

Located on the waterfront at Yarra’s Edge in Melbourne the series of luxurious three- and four-bedroom homes combine townhouse and inner-city office in one and embrace the ever-growing trend – and need – for a balanced and flexible home and work life. Designed to be versatile and adaptable, there is office space on the lower floor and living spaces on the upper two floors, but each can be adjusted based on how home life and work life may evolve.

The interiors are appointed with furnishings for a younger entrepreneurial market that, architecturally forward, privileges function over fuss. Ligne Roset’s Ploum Settee designed by the Bouroullec brothers is in the living room. It is deservedly one of DOMO’s most popular products with ample and ultra-soft curves that are the epitome of comfort. The Ploum’s full form is contrasted with Ligne Roset’s articulated and woven Fifty lounge chair, a cutting-edge version of the classic wingback. In the centre, the Cadence coffee tables visually mediate and unify the Ploum Settee and Fifty lounge chair.

Ligne Roset’s Bul floor lamp provides stylish and functional illumination over the sofa, while the Duvivier Karusa bookshelf brings the warmth and textures of timber into the room.

Adjacent to the living area, the dining table and kitchen are light and white and open with colours and materials – silver steel, metal and concrete – that celebrate the reflection of the water. Ligne Roset’s Odessa dining table is fresh and crisp in white marble and accompanied by the faceted Rocher dining chair with a satin-finish shell and quilted cushioned seat.

The light-filled bedroom is furnished and decorated with peacock blue tones evocative of the water. The steel and glass Duvivier Karusa side table has been appropriated as a bedside table and its linearity and transparency is mimicked in the Ligne Roset Parachute light above.

Downstairs in the home office, TONON’s Salt and Pepper table is a versatile addition that could serve as meeting table or breakfast table, while the TONON Up chair could be used as dining chair or office chair. Their organic forms are complemented by the rich timber table top and chair legs.

Mirvac’s Cargo Homes have been designed to be not only smart but also stylish. You can find its contemporary furnishings on display in our seven showrooms across New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and Victoria.
