Togo exhibition launch celebrating 50 Years of the Iconic and Beloved ‘Togo’ Sofa
The iconic Togo sofa by Ligne Roset is just as popular and relevant today as when it was first released in 1973. To celebrate Togo’s 50th anniversary, DOMO hosted a special Togo 50 Spaces : 50 Years of Togo Exhibition at the Alexandria showroom in Sydney.
Instantly recognisable by its slouchy, low-slung lines and folded fabric – or “a tube of toothpaste folded back on itself… and closed at both ends,” as designer Michael Ducaroy once famously described it – the authentic Ligne Roset Togo sofa has been the ultimate symbol of relaxation for five decades.
To mark the occasion, Australian designers, architects, stylists and design aficionados were invited to attend the opening of this fascinating exhibition.
The Togo exhibition launch took guests on a photographic journey through Togo’s fascinating history, and the many homes, people and spaces it has enriched since 1973. Guests enjoyed special archival photographs from Ligne Roset, an immersive audio experience, and explored Togo sofa settings on display, including the limited-edition 50th anniversary fabric by Heather Chontos and Pierre Frey.
A must-see for any design lover, the Togo 50:50 Exhibition will run until Wednesday 2 August at DOMO Alexandria Showroom, 61-63 O’Riordan Street, NSW.
