Designed by Pierre Guariche in 1966, the Jupiter Armchair was born from a series of visionary concepts centred around a single-block seat with smooth, welcoming curves and a swivelling high back.
Inspired by the space race and cutting-edge materials of the time such as expanded polyurethane, Guariche transformed innovation into sculptural comfort.
The Jupiter Armchair is anchored by a round steel base finished in satin black epoxy lacquer, allowing for a full swivel and enhancing its bold, modernist profile. First appearing in the Meurop catalogue under Guariche’s artistic direction, the Jupiter was aptly described in just one line: “The ultimate luxury armchair.”
